Morning Workout

I guess all the comments about Hayden's cheeks and legs are really starting to get to her. The last couple of mornings this is what we have found.

Easter in Blanding

We were able to spend Easter in Blanding this year with my family and Colin's parents. It was great that Colin's parents were able to come down and see Hayden for a couple days. They hadn't seen her since Thanksgiving so she had changed a lot.
We left Phoenix Thursday afternoon so Colin could be there by Friday to race his gas powered car with Denim and Chris. That didn't turn out they way they hoped. Before we even got there Chris' and Denim had both crashed theirs so they weren't running, so poor Colin had to drive his alone all weekend. I think he had still fun and despite my mean brothers wishes he didn't crash his.
Saturday we when out picnicking and four wheeling. It was a little windy, but other than that the weather was great. I don't know how much Hayden enjoyed herself , but she was a trooper. Sunday we got to go to my new little nephews blessing. I love baby blessings, you can always feel the spirit so strong. After church we had a delicious Ham dinner and played games. We had a another great weekend!!! Thanks to my mom and dad for hosting us and thanks to Lee and Leah for traveling down to visit.

A Little About Us

I saw this on a Friends blog and thought it looked fun!

  1. What's his name: Colin Edward Gibbons

2. How long have you been married? 1½ years.

3. How long did you date? We dated about 5½ months

4. How old is he? He just turned 27

5. Who eats more? Depends on the time. I think he usually eats more, but I could eat as much as him if I wanted to. He really doesn’t eat that much.

6. Who said "I love you" first? He did. The sad thing is I can’t even remember the exact time. Sad huh?

7. Who is taller? He is only a couple of inches taller than me.

8. Who sings better? I don’t know!! I guess we sing equally bad :)

9. Who is smarter? He is much smarter than me, especially when it comes to church stuff. He has to always explain very basic principles to me.

10. Whose temper is worse? I think his temper is worse than mine, but you really have to push him to his limits for him to lose it.

11. Who does the laundry? I do. That’s my job!!

12. Who does the dishes? I do most of the time. That’s my job :)

13. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do…does anyone really care?

14. Who pays the bills? Colin does. When I stopped working I took over and then I had Hayden and quit, I don’t really know why.

15. Who mows the lawn? Some very annoying landscaping men who come around ten times a day every Wednesday and wake Hayden up from her naps!

16. Who cooks dinner? I do most nights. Colin usually makes Breakfast on Sunday.

17. Who drives when you are together? Colin does. I sit in the back and entertain Hayden; I'm pretty sure he won't ever switch me.

18. Who is more stubborn? I think we are pretty even on this one.

19. Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? Defiantly Colin! In the moment I never think I am wrong. I have to completely calm down and then I realize that once again it was me, not Colin who was wrong.

20. Whose parents do you visit most? Mine, they live closer.

21. Who proposed? Of course Colin!!

22. Who has more friends? Its pretty even when it comes to long time friends. But I think I have more friends in Phoenix.

23. Who wears the pants in the family? um.....me?

Hope you liked a little insight into our lives. I'd love to hear about yours!

A Few Thoughts

First of all I just finished watching four hours of Anne of Green Gables. I didn't watch it all in one day, I spread it out over a three day period and I really tried to be productive while watching it, but ended up only getting a couple of clothes folded. Colin thinks I am a bit ridiculous because I have already seen most of it quite a few times, but I have never seen it from start to finish; so that is how I justify it. I could watch this movie over and over again. It is so cute and wholesome; it is so nice to watch a movie that is entertaining and clean!! I can't wait to watch "Anne of Green Gables-The Sequel!! I am sure most of you have seen this but if you haven't and you are a girl (guys would hate it) you should watch it. So good!!!
Second of all I am so disappointed with the guy they chose to play Edward in the Twilight movie. Does anyone think he is cute? (I think I will make that a poll question) Isn't Edward supposed to be the perfect man? I know they can't recreate every womens ideal man, but he doesn't even come close. They should have chose Gilbert Blythe :)

Tiffany & Gavins Visit

Colin's sister Tiffany and her son Gavin came down to visit us last week. We had a great time with them here. It was so nice to have someone to hang out with while Colin was at work! I wasn't sure how Hayden would handle them staying with us, sometimes she can be a little grumpy when strangers are around, but sure enough she loved them both!! She thought her cousin Gavin was so funny and would smile at him every time he talked to her; it was really cute. The weather was great so we spent almost everyday out at the pool and at the park. Saturday we went to a train park in Scottsdale and got ice cream and rode a little train. I think that was the highlight of Gavin's week. He also loved hanging out with Uncle Colin and driving their cars. I think Colin loved having a little boy around to share in his enthusiasm about guy stuff. We all really enjoyed their visit and are sad they are gone. We hope they come back soon!!

The Town too Tough to Die

We had a great few days with my parents this last weekend. We planned on just doing the same things we do every time they come down which consists of going out to eat, going to a park and shopping. That stuff is always fun, but this weekend my Dad really wanted to go to Tombstone Arizona and I have always wanted to go, so at about 4:00 pm Friday afternoon we packed up and headed south. Thanks to my parents we were able to spend the night at a hotel Friday night so we could have all of Saturday to tour around Tombstone. It was cool to see all the original buildings and stuff that has been around for so many years. Everyone that worked there looked so authentic, so it made it feel like you were really in an old western town. We all had a great time. It was so fun to be able to go on a mini vacation and be able to do something out of the ordinary..thanks Mom and Dad!!
This guy was nice enough to take a picture with us.

This is the hearse that took everyone who was killed up to the Boot Hill grave yard. It is now worth about a million dollars.
This sign was in one of the Saloons.
This was at the Bird Cage theater. It was a saloon where they would drink and gamble and where the men would go for a "good time."
The court house.
If you know me, you know I am little morbid so the gallows were one of my favorites sites.
Our first stop was at the Boothill grave yard. These graves were the three men who were killed at the OK Carral.

Birthday Boy

Yesterday was Colin's birthday. He turned the big 27! I surprised him by decorating the house and making him a soccer ball cake. I am actually quite proud of the cake because I have never done anything like that before. I am not the most patient person in the world so usually when I attempt something that requires a lot of time and talent it will end up in the trash before it is finished. But this time I persevered even though the cake was falling apart, I ran out of frosting and Hayden was crying. It turned out pretty good and more importantly Colin loved it and thought I did such a good job (luckily he doesn't have an eye for detail!)
Also I was a little upset because two of Colin's presents didn't get here in time, so the only gift he had to open were some 99 cent guitar picks. He didn't care because his real present will be here on Thursday. He is getting a gas powered remote control car. Him, my brothers and my brother in law were on four-way calling the other night for about an hour and a half trying to figure out what cars to get. It was so funny how serious they were about it. They all had to get the exact same truck so no would have an unfair advantage; there races have to be based on their driving skills alone...they are all so competitive!!
All in all I think Colin had a pretty good birthday.

This wasn't part of the birthday celebration. Hayden got this new duck to bathe in so we took some pictures.

Her first time swinging, she was a little nervous at first but then really started to have fun!

Polls

So I know our polls are a little strange, but this is how Colin and I like to solve our disputes. The first Poll we did because I knew the song "867-5309" and Colin had never heard it. A few months later that other song came on the radio and I didn't know it and Colin said more people would know this song than "867-5309." I said no way, lets ask someone else and that is why we did that poll; and if any of you missed the results I won by a landslide!!! I hope our latest poll doesn't offend anyone; we just got into a debate about the name Calvin. One of us likes it and one of us doesn't so we need you to help us determine who has good taste.
