So Thursday night I was talking on the phone with my friend Janice. She told me that she was going down to Vegas for the weekend and was going to meet up with another one of my good friends, Jen. I thought it sounded like a fun weekend, so I invited myself and Hayden along!! Hayden has been wanting to stay in a hotel (with a kitchen) since we got back from Disneyland, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity. Luckily Colin had Friday off and was more than supportive of us going on a "girls trip."
We left Friday morning, ate at In-n-Out for lunch, got to Vegas around 3:00. We checked out the pool, but decided it was a little too cold and crowded for us. Our hotel room had a jacuzzi tub, so Hayden and I "swam" in that. That night we ate at Serendipity (yes, just like the one in New York.) We got their famous frozen hot chocolate which was amazing and we also got one of their Sundaes...so good!!!!!!!!!!!
Saturday we hit the town to see the M&M store, the lions at MGM and then went to the mall for lunch and Build-a-Bear. I had a coupon for a free bear that expired that weekend so it worked out perfectly. After that we went back to the hotel and rested and "swam" again and then we ventured out into the CRAZY streets of Las Vegas to eat dinner at the Rain Forest Cafe.
Sunday morning we got up bright and early and headed for home. Because of the time change and day light savings we lost two hours coming back to Utah!
We had a GREAT time and it was so nice to spend some one-on-one time with Hayden.
We saw quite a few strange characters out on the street, but she was most excited to see "Oreo". I don't know why???

Last week was Colin's 30th birthday. We got to spend the day with him since he doesn't have to work Fridays anymore. We attempted to go to a place in Salt Lake called Hollywood Connection, but it was closed. I made him Cincinnati Chili dinner and of course a birthday cake. It was pretty low key because his real celebration is not until September when we are going four wheeling on the Paiute Trail. 
This is really Carsons first time playing outside. He loved it!!
Friday we went to St. George and did a little hiking.

Last week we had a Valentines Party with Hayden's friend. It was a little crazy with so many kids, but it was a lot of fun. They are so cute!!
I was pretty preoccupied with everything going on, so here is Carson starting to lose his patience after being in his chair for about 30 minutes!
I really need to proofread what I write before I post it...looking back I realize "day" was a little over used. :)
As you can tell from my lack of blog posts, our lives have come to a screeching halt since Christmas!! But here are a few things we have done:
*Carson got sick for a few days, but came out of it like a champ. Luckily Hayden didn't get it. She hasn't been sick the entire winter(knock on wood). We have been really lucky so far!
*Colin got a new job at a company in South Jordan called Merit Medical. He has a pretty good commute, but other than that the job is AMAZING!!!!! We are so blessed that he got it!! He will be working as an Oracle Analyst. What that is...I dont know?? :)
*The picture above is Colin and Hayden going out on a date. They went out to eat at BYU Creamery and than saw a play at BYU. She was so excited and had to get dressed up in her best outfit!!
*Last weekend Colin and I got to go on a date. We had planned to go up to Salt Lake on Friday and eat at the Cheesecake Factory and then see a play at Desert Star. I decided to surprise Colin and get my mom to babysit the kids Friday night and Saturday so we could stay overnight and spend the next day together. It was sooooooo nice to be able to sleep in and and not worry about the kids for a few hours!!! We ate breakfast at an amazing restaurant called the Blue Plate Diner. It is just a small kind of hole-in-the-wall place with such GOOD food!!! I got the
Eggs Benedict and was in heaven!!! The rest of the day didn't really go as planned. Colin sold his car the day before and basically HAD to get one that day, so we went car shopping ALL day!! He ended up buying a car at 9:00 that night. It definitely was a long day, but a fun day!!
*Upcoming:
Wednesday Colin gets to go to the Jazz game and sit in his company's box. I was going to go, but his going to go in my place. I get to stay home and hang out with the scouts!! :)
Thursday we are having a Valentines party with all of our neighbor friends. Should be a pretty crazy party!
Friday we are getting out of town and are going to hang out with the Lyman clan in Cedar City!
